Thesis Theme

I am not using the Thesis theme. I bought it quite a while ago, and I bought the developer version that you could use for all your sites, but I can’t figure that stupid thing out.

You’ll notice I’ve changed my theme. Hopefully this one is faster loading, that’s the only reason I changed it. I was sick of how long it seemed for the site to load.

You’ll see I also changed the colouring somewhat… less purple, more orange and green. That just enabled me to go with a lot of what was inherent in this theme by Daily Blog Tips.

The Thesis theme had all these ‘hooks’. And that’s fine, reading through the guide I got the idea of how the hooks work. However, I’d be adding hooks to customize things and only one of them would show up.

I dicked around with that theme for a long time (only because I paid for it) and finally had enough.

If it’s gotta be rocket science to make changes, I don’t want to be bothered with it. I just want to edit some html, or some css, maybe move some php code here and there and be done with it.

So, I hope things are faster for you. They’re faster for me.

Well, I like the new look and things certainly load faster. But, considering I’m not the most competent person when it comes to editing blog designs. I’m confused to how I could get it Thesis to work and not you?? Your miles ahead, when it comes to this stuff!!

I’m guessing you edited the custom.php file and the custom functions file, right. If you did that, everything should work. Although, I find you sometimes have to log out, log back in and then refresh the screen to see changes you made to your site.

Did you try leaving a question on the Thesis forums? While you might get the occasional snarky answer. Most of the people on there, are generally nice and might have and idea to your problems.

Give it another shot, I know you can do it!! Otherwise, it’s just wasted money.

Thesis Methisis what?

It does load faster now, but I was willing to wait before, I mean 4.3 seconds out of my boring existence ain’t gonn’a give me the gripes.

Lyndon,I was editing the custom files but even if I had to go to the bother of logging in and out every time I made a change, I would find that to be too much of a hassle. Especially if I’m just moving something. Log out, refresh, don’t like it, log in, change it again, log out, refresh, log in.

I don’t use widgets, so everything in the sidebars has to be some custom crap. And I can’t say I’m overly impressed with forums or with waiting days for an answer if you get one.

I’m letting it go. Be free little butterfly.
