No Ergo for Me
So I was sitting here (working at home as I mentioned yesterday), and my poor back starting killing me.
It seemed more painful than it did yesterday, and I wondered why, since I have this ergonomic chair at home (not at work).
So I took my old chair (now in the jewellery display room) and brought it in here. I tried it out and it certainly seemed comfy.
I sat in it a while and, whaddayaknow, when I stood up, I could stand up. Unlike my ergo chair where I stood up and had to grab the wall to hold on to in order to walk down the hall.
So I don’t get it. Why is the ergo chair making my back worse and the regular old manager’s chair making me feel just fine?
And I had requested an ergo chair at work ($800-$1300) which was approved. All I have to do is go to the doctor’s, get a note, and put the request in to HR. Now I’m wondering if I want the ergo chair. Maybe my chair is just fine.
What to do. Without a new chair I could at least save myself a couple of hours waiting in that stupid doctor’s office.
I guess I’ll have to decide tomorrow whether or not to go get a note (which, of course, I would also have to pay for – stupid assholes).

I have found the chair doesn’t matter nearly as much as how I choose to sit.
I usually have my legs crossed, or I am sitting on them … and it kills.
If I sit properly with my feet on the floor and shoulders back, I am fine. Sadly, I rarely do that.
