Telus Revisited
Oh ya, I forgot to tell you about this excellent customer service I got from Telus the other day. The story goes like this:
Once upon a time, there was this girl named Jafer, and she had a Telus pay and talk cell phone (LG KEYBO to be exact, yes, we know, it’s the only post she’d ever written where there were a kajillion people commenting).
Jafer had her phone account set to automatically top up off her credit card so that she wouldn’t forget the top-up dates and it would be taken care of automatically.
Problem? Well, our fine Jafer’s credit card was maxed out and she had to wait two weeks until another pay day in order to ‘unmax’ that credit card. Why was that a problem, you ask? That was a problem because of those aforementioned auto payments for her phone. Yes, of course a payment must go through when the credit card was maxed out.
Pay day came and Jafer paid down her credit card. Our good Jafer did not want to lose her rate of 25¢ per minute, because if you lose that, it goes to 50¢ per minute. So she called up Telus to tell them that they could once again put through the credit card payment.
The Telus employee tried to put through the payment, but it would not go through. Perhaps that was because our spunky little Jafer had paid the credit card using online banking and it was not immediate.
However, our seemingly caring Telus employee decided to perform a good deed for Jafer. He told her that, “since she was a long-time, good Telus customer”, he was going to waive this month’s top up fee and give her the usual top up for free. She would not have to pay for a top up now until the next month.
Jafer was elated. Problem solved. As she blew kisses through the phone at the seemingly caring Telus employee, she did not forget to thank him profusely. Perhaps that’s an exaggeration. Perhaps she didn’t even think of blowing kisses and remained totally professional, just thanking him profusely.
End of story. Jafer lived happily ever after and married the prince. The seemingly caring Telus employee was crushed, but you can’t marry someone just because they give you a free month of cellphone calls.
Way to go, Telus.
