Rubber Girl – Pukka Orchestra

I used to have this song on an album – God forbid I should find it anywhere.

I loved this song, it was so amusing to me, and yet I wasn’t able to find it anywhere.

Until tonight.

Don’t ask me why I happened to, out of a clear blue sky, be searching for this tonight, but I found a website that was selling it. And I almost did all this signing up and buying a subscription, yada yada, and then I thought, “hey, don’t I have iTunes? Do they have it on iTunes?”

So I searched it out AND I found it. The best thing about that is that I had 5 free songs to download on iTunes (a customer service thing they gave me when I reformatted my computer and songs I’d bought were no longer available for purchase).

So, those 5 free songs have sat there for the longest time and I finally found something I wanted to download. I’ve got Rubber Girl now – after years of searching for it.

I’d put it up here but I can’t… it’s in whatever strange iTunes format – don’t even know where. However, if you’re interested, you can probably go to your iTunes store and hear some snippet.

I find it hilarious and I even like the music to it. So go… look for title above (too lazy to type it again).

I’m so happy I could plotz. Is that a real word, plotz? Well, if it isn’t, it is now. I’m plotzing over here. I’ve got Rubber Girl.

I could give you a crash course on music file formats, but honest I doubt you care :)

I’m surprise that no on posted it on YouTube though. Usually the first place I look, when I want to share a song. Easier than converting music files.

It’s such an old song, Lyndon, I’m sure that’s why I couldn’t find it – Plus, I don’t know whether it was ever a popular song etiher.

jafers last blog post..Rubber Girl – Pukka Orchestra

It was a popular song when it came out in the eighties. I lived in Toronto at the time and CFNY radio station played a lot of different music, not like the retread crap that gets played everywhre today. I came across your post while looking up the Pukka Orchestra. I want to get the album somewhere. I don’t know why I never bought it back then.

I have the whole album available digitally…sne me a message if you’re interested.
