Spooky

I haven’t seen any sign of my daughter since yesterday morning. From what I knew, she was dressing up as Amy Winehouse and going to go downtown with her friend for Halloween.

I’m assuming she did that. I can’t be sure though since I haven’t heard a word from her. I texted her last night to ask her what time she’d be home and never heard a word. I went to bed thinking that she was probably just partying with her friends and she’d be in late.

When I didn’t see her this morning, I figured she’d slept over at her friend’s place and was probably still sleeping. So I gave it til about noon and started texting. I texted her a bunch of times today and never heard a word.

So I have to wonder did she lose or break her phone – or perhaps it needs charging? Did something happen to her and she’s been unable to call? Is she at a friend’s place and just being completely selfish and not even thinking about letting people know she’s safe and sound?

Whatever’s going on, I finally called the cops. I think I called them around 4:00 this afternoon and they said they’d send someone over. It’s now almost 8:00 and I just called them again to ask when someone was coming over.

I was told that things are really busy and they’ll get here as soon as they can. I asked whether that would be before bed time, since I’ve had the police phone me at 12:30 in the morning and the woman said it probably would be, depending on the emergencies, but, if not, to give them a call and let them know when I was going to bed or if my daughter showed up.

I don’t think it’s great that a 15-year-old girl is out all night and perhaps another night without anyone knowing where she is. Who knows WTF is going on.

UPDATE: I called the police at 10:45 to tell them I was going to bed soon. They said they’d cancel the report and I could call again tomorrow if she still hadn’t shown up. At 11:30 she arrived home safely – with attitude. How’s that for mothers worrying about where their daughter’s are?
