GPS, the Sequel
Remember how I had bought a GPS [that post is here]? I was having fun listening to my new girlfriend telling me how to get places.
One day, not too long ago, we went to Tim’s. It was roll-up-the-rim-and-win time. Guess what I won? No, not the Toyota which would be good for me, I could use a new car. No, not a free coffee or donut, although that’s usually what I win, if anything.
Did you say GPS? Did you say, ‘I bet she won a GPS’? Yes, boys and girls, you’ve got it. That’s right, I won ANOTHER GPS. You know damned well that I’d only win the car if I’d just gone out and bought a car. And, actually, my daughter won it. I bought her a hot chocolate and she rolled up the rim for a GPS. Then she gave it to me. How’s that for sweet?
So I sent off my tag to Timmie’s, along with the form I had to download off their website. In 6-8 weeks my new GPS is supposed to arrive.. coming soon to a Tim’s close to me, and then they’re supposed to call me to let me know it’s there.
I’m keeping the new one. It’s a better one than the one I have now which is a pretty basic model, although still fun. The new one is supposed to have points of interest in it, including all the Tim’s locations. Isn’t that fabulous? I can be in any neighbourhood and find out where there’s a Tim’s. I’m hoping this is the version that also calls out the street names. Mine just says “turn left”, it doesn’t say, “turn left at Yonge Street”, like some of them do.
I’ll give my old one to my snookey, even though he says he’ll never use it. I told him he has to use it. Much better than trying to open a Perly’s, look up a street, find the page, search the map for a location – all while you’re driving. Ok, he doesn’t really do that. Really. No, he doesn’t. Not until he’s lost. No, I’m kidding. He doesn’t do that. Really. Stop it.
I’m just waiting for my arrival.
