Spiderman 3
We only rented this because we’d seen the other two. Quite frankly, as I was sitting there before it started, I was saying to myself, “WyTF are two middle-aged people going to watch a movie about a fictitious spider man?”
The plot… there was no plot. Ok, the plot was that Peter Parker gave in to his dark side. So what? Who doesn’t do that once in a while? I, myself, will now and then put on the black costume instead of the red (don’t let that get around).
The effects didn’t seem any more spectacular in this movie other than the fact that they seemed faster. Yes, I’m swinging between the buildings on a thread, and look how quickly I can shoot that thread up there.
I was bored. I was nodding off. I will not rent a Spiderman 4.

I’m thinking you need to avoid superhero movies in general. They were good for a while, but lately the stories suck, and they seem to be all about the special effects.
