Grandson at 7
My grandson came over for a visit today. He and my son will be staying overnight (I don’t know where, on the pull-out couch, I guess).
I got a call yesterday from my son’s ex-wife who said that she was coming to Toronto and did I want to babysit so she could go off with her friends see my grandson since it had been a while.
I, of course, said “sure” and we arranged for her to drop him off this morning. My son was coming this evening, just in time for dinner. How convenient.
So my grandson has been playing games on the computer all day. I think that kid is more obsessed with the computer than I am. Or maybe not. It could be a tie. My poor daughter has been stuck without her computer most of the day while he kidnapped it.
It’s good to see him, it must be at least a year since I’ve seen him, but I have to say that I was a bit nervous at the thought of him being here. I’ve forgotten what you’re supposed to do with a 7-year-old, after all my daughter’s 14 now, that’s twice as old. Who remembers that long ago?
In a few minutes I’m closing down computer time and we’re all going to go out and have a family night watching the Transformers. I couldn’t see any other movies there that might be family friendly.
That’s my excitement on a Saturday. The usual only with more people.
