Death Proof
Did you want to rent a really strange movie? You’ve found it in this one. You know I like Quentin Tarantino movies, and that’s why I was waiting for this one to become available.
Please save your $3-$7 and rent something else. There are maybe 15 minutes of ‘good stuff’ in this film. I will not be adding it to my Tarantino collection.
A bunch of women friends are getting together for a get-away. The largest part of the movie is these women hanging out, yakking and yakking. Too bad none of the conversation was the least bit interesting since it went on forever.
Kurt Russell plays the bad guy who kills the women in a head-on car crash. That may have taken up two minutes of the movie with the slow-mo replays.
Then there’s another group of 4 women. We know Kurt is gonna want a piece of that action too. However, these other 4 women are stunt women (just like our pal Kurt who plays Stuntman Mike).
These other 4 women are vengeful types and when someone tries to kill them, they fight back. And they kill Stuntman Mike, or at least punch the living shit right out of him – and that’s the end of the movie.
So those two action scenes are the only action in this snorefest. The acting was really bad too. Quentin, what’s happened to you? And what’s with the ‘trying to make it seem like really old film’ effect running through the beginning of the movie?
