I was gonna rent a horror movie last night but decided against it because sometimes my daughter is scared to go to bed after a horror. So I got Wild Hogs instead and then my daughter was invited to a sleepover and we had this to watch.
The movie’s about a bunch of middle-aged men who get talked into going on a road trip by John Travolta. They don’t know that John’s marriage is over, he’s flat broke, and has lost all his business, so he has nothing to lose by going on this trip.
However, amongst the other men, one is feeling ‘middle-aged’, one is a henpecked husband, and one is a big geek who’s afraid to talk to women. With everything going on in their minds, they are easily talked into reclaiming their youth.
These men have their biker jackets with the Wild Hogs emblem embroidered on (by one of the wives). They happen to make a pit stop at a real biker establishment and some trouble ensues. The movie turns into a ‘how do four middle-aged men escape real trouble-making bikers’.
The film had some amusing spots. I actually laughed out loud a few times even though, for the most part, it was pretty corny.
If you want a night of fluff, and a child-friendly film, go ahead and rent it.
Saw it twice at the flicks, and it was ok for a laugh.
