Brooklyn Rules

Why do I always think that the movie is going to be something different than it is?

I read the box.

I expected some big mafioso, scary, action-packed movie out of this. It was more like The Wonder Years. Ok, I guess it was something like Good Fellas (if that’s the one where Ray Liotta is explaining things all through the movie).

Brooklyn RulesAlex Baldwin is one of the big mob guys (how did they pick such a white guy to play an Italian mobster? I do not know).

Freddie Prinze Jr. is our hero whose friend is getting involved with the mob but Freddie is aspiring to Ivy league life and wants nothing to do with it.

All three friends in the movie get dragged into mob action in some way or another. Of course someone dies – ok more than one.

The whole movie is about these three friends. Yawn. Not enough action. Wake me when something interesting happens. They almost could have left the mob out of this movie since it was only an undercurrent anyway.

If you’ve been having trouble sleeping, go ahead and rent this movie, it’s not addictive.
