Womanly Stuff
Three times I made a necklace yesterday… the same stinking necklace. After the first time I noticed that the little gold spacers were too big and they kept wobbling by the beads, so I took it apart.
After that I changed the spacers to smaller spacers and then when I had it all put together those small spacers got stuck in the big holes of the big beads so the necklace was pulling apart.
So I took it apart again and changed spacers again and got it all put together.
The problem is, after all that work, I tried the necklace on and I don’t like it. So I’m going to take it apart and make it differently. I know exactly what would make me happy with it and it’s a matter of one bead on each side. Funny how I thought I liked the necklace the first two times. What an asswipe I am. I’m not doing it soon, I already feel like I made three necklaces.
In other news, lifeslackers.com is down or something… can’t get there. I’m only mentioning that in case Lyndon happens to visit and isn’t aware that there’s something wrong with his site.
In more other news my snookey took his exam again this morning – and failed miserably. I think he scored 11 points higher than his last exam but he’s only got one more chance to bring it up another 10 points to pass. This time he’s got 2 weeks before his next exam. Let’s hope that gives him enough time to memorize this fucking crap he’s been studying for almost two months now.
Yesterday I stopped at the manicurist in order to buy that little razor-y thing they have for the pedicures. They told me they don’t sell those. However, a woman who was having a pedicure done told me that there was a nail supply place not too far from my home and to go there because they had all the supplies I could ever want.
So I found the place tonight. There was a big sign on the door that said they only sell to commercial nail people ← whatever the wording was, but I went in anyway. They didn’t ask me for my Manicurist Union Card, so I figured I’d try to buy stuff and would lie if I had to.
I found the razor-y thing and bought it, $12, and the gigantabox of razors that fit into it, $11 for 100. Pedicures cost about $25 at the cheap place, so for under $25 I got some of the tools to do it.
Not only that, but this place sold the ‘fast drying salon nail polish’ for only $6. Remember when I went to the Bayview Village Spa for that spa day? Remember I bought one of the nail polishes they used on me? Bayview Village Spa charged me $13 for that nail polish (ridiculous amount) but today I found it for $6. So you know if one place is selling it for $6, they’re probably buying it for $1.
Tonight I decided I’d do my own pedicure, so I soaked my feet, took off all my nail polish, used the razor-y thing and put some expensive foot cream on. Then I did my nails in this light pink colour – usually I wear bright colours on my toes but I thought I’d change it up. It almost looks like there’s no polish on them but it’s still there, oh so subtle. Then I did my fingernails in the same colour.
I’ve just decided that I don’t like the colour. Not on my fingernails, anyway. So in a couple of days I’ll change it. I’m not going through all that stinking effort to take it off the next day.
All of this has prevented me from shaving my big honking hairy legs. So, even though it’s supposed to be really hot tomorrow, I’ll be wearing long pants. Maybe tomorrow night I’ll get up my energy to mow down those forests. Not right now, though. I still have to take off my make-up and floss my teeth with my new flosser (any excuse to spend money).
Oh, and BTW, I’m gonna watch Canadian Idol tonight, we’re getting down to the crunch. However, there is one really bad singer on there who STILL hasn’t gotten kicked off.
This guy sounds like he’s trying to do Elvis impersonations every time he sings, and yet he’s off key half the time and he’s just crap. But he’s still there.
It’s unbelievable how some of these people stay on the show and yet good singers get voted off. These people must have a pretty big family or network of friends to stay on the show.
I hope he gets kicked off soon.
I’m off to do that. Aren’t you glad you stopped by to read all about the excitement going on in the Ferguson household?
