The Workplace

I had two meetings scheduled for today. The first meeting was with the consultant who finishes his job at the end of the month, and whose work I will be taking over. Hmmm, I will get to add the tasks of the consultant who makes $1200 a day onto my existing tasks. Scuze me, but I certainly don’t make $1200 a day. I’m not worth it just because I’m able to add that work onto what I currently do.

My meeting with him was cancelled, though, cuz he had to go to a job interview. I wouldn’t want to cut into his work time. We’ll meet tomorrow when he’s got no personal plans during his work day.

My second meeting today was about something I had no clue about. However, included in that meeting was the request that I do up a slide on my procedures. Scuze me again, but aren’t these the procedures that you, requestor, asked me to follow? So aren’t these your procedures?

And why, instead of just asking me to do up a slide on my procedures, did I have to sit through yet another meeting about a whole bunch of other stuff, instead of someone just asking me to do up a slide on my procedures?

I don’t think I’ll ever really ‘get’ the workplace. But I’m happy to have a job. And that’s the ‘happy’ with the whispered, “fuckheads” (did I say that out loud, or did I just think it?).

Ok lets see if I can pass the math today.

Yes it was loud.

BTW saw the Bourne Ultimatum, it was good, some of the camera work was crap but at least it had a story.

Doncha just love the $$ we waste on meetings?
