The Contract
John Cusack is a father who’s having a little trouble with his teenage son as a result of (what else) the wife/mother dying of cancer a couple of years before. He decides to embark on a camping trip with this son to spend a little ‘quality’ time together.
Morgan Freeman is our former government agent who now freelances as a killer/mercenary, albeit a mercenary who’s a ‘human being’.
Morgan escapes the law thanks to an ambush by his men (who are only rescuing him because he’s the one who’s got the money from the latest hit). A runs into B out on the camping trip and, John, having been a former cop before turning gym teacher, must bring Morgan in to justice.
The whole movie is one of running from the bad guys in the woods. Morgan (being the good human being that he is) has told John to leave him so that his men won’t kill his whole family but John is having none of that.
Ambush. Fight scene. Dad and son… bonded. The end. Ehhhh.
