Forgot to clean the lens ? Actually its really hard for a digital camera to focus in fog, all that moving water confuses the focusing system. I tried to take pictures of wind blown sand over sand-dunes with little success until I used the 1500th of a sec settings. Even then it only worked in BW mode.
