So Zonked
Last night I got home and had my dinner (leftover ravioli with vegetables) and then sat on the couch. I wasn’t feeling that shit hot so I laid on the couch. Wouldn’t you know, I woke up with my honey sitting on the other couch beside me, he had just turned on Canadian Idol.
I actually slept. Not only that, but I had no problem getting to sleep at bedtime either around 11:15.
The only bad thing about all that was that I woke up at 5:15 this morning. And I woke, came on the computer and saw that my site had some big database error message and nothing was showing up but the header, sidebar and a search where the posts were supposed to be.
I called Netfirms who answered right away (after all, WoTF else is calling them at 5:20?) and they said they’d escalate the ticket to the big technie guys who know this stuff. However, I took a look at my database through the phpmyAdmin and saw that it was only showing posts up until February 2005.
I called them back and said that it was nothing I had done wrong, that there was some database problem and they said they’d notify me within 12 hours of a fix. When I got to work (also early, around 8:00) I checked the site and it was fine and dandy. I got an email a while later that said that a few people had a short database problem but it was all fixed.
So now I’m fixed and ready to apologize for my utter zonked-ness last night. Who knows what up with that. I was miserable too, but I only noticed that I was miserable on the last of my trip home.
Everything was fine up until then (I think) but then I stopped to fill up my tank because I had the little empty light on. Luckily for me gas was only 77¢ – although it still cost me $37.01 to fill up. Yes, .01, because I am the idiot who can never get it right on. Yesterday I actually saw it stop at $37.00 and for some reason my trigger finger pulled again to make it .01.
So when I was trying to pull out of the spot (because now there was a line up), there were two cars parked to get into the pumps. One guy didn’t move at all, the other guy did but because of the first guy, it was still rocket science for me to try and back through the two of them.
As I was backing out (with my windows open), I yelled at the first guy (the guy with the comb-over and the gold chains), “this is not a fucking parking spot, you idiot”. He started saying something but I just gave him the finger. As I pulled around some more and got in a position to look his way again he started yelling something at me, but I don’t know what he was yelling because I used my big baseball voice to yell, “asshole!”.
It was at that point that I realized what a bad mood I was in. So I was no better when I got home and found out my honey was leaving right away to go off to dinner with his son – especially since we were supposed to finish off those leftovers.
It was probably very lucky I had the little snooze, cuz by the time he got home I probably would have worked myself into a state about who knows what and been even more miserable.
So, boys and girls, you’ll be happy I didn’t write yesterday. How’s that for an elaborate tale? Oh, and the dog ate my homework.
