Cloud Appreciation Society

Cloud Appreciation SocietyDid I mention to anybody that I had joined The Cloud Appreciation Society?

This is my welcome letter. It also came with a membership certificate and a little button to pin on somewhere that says “Cloud Appreciation Society”. I have that button on the strap of my digital camera. I only have one now because I gave my other one to my daughter.

Since, in almost every picture I take, I first look at the clouds before anything else, I figured I’d better sign up for this fabulous society, cuz dammit all… I love clouds.

OMG soon you will be talking about adiabatic lapse rates, and particle to droplet size distribution in rising masses, not to mention stratoform regenerates …..

What?
Yes I know about clouds, there I said it. Its from the pilot training really it is, oooh look a dragon , up there im the cloud to the left of that stratoclumulous and next to the alto cumulous.

:D

Have you got this book?:

‘The Cloudspotter’s Guide’

If not, why not?

TC, I don’t have the Cloudspotter’s Guide – but since it’s written by the guy who started The Cloud Appreciation Society, perhaps I should get it… you know, to make sure I’m being a good ‘member’.

BFG, you know a helluva lot more about clouds than I do (or ever wanted to). Although I wouldn’t mind learning more about clouds, really I just want to look at them and take some good pictures.

I think today I will put some film in that panorama camera that I have and see how they turn out (I hope there are some good clouds out today, there certainly were yesterday when I didn’t have a camera on me).
