Probation Done

Well today was the end of my 3-month probationary period at the new job. Wow, it’s been 3 months already… feels like years.

All went well, it was like a little mini review and the Director seemed pleased. I, of course, wanted more money – you know, like the money they said they were paying in their ad. I hadn’t realized I’d have to start at this lower pay for 3 months at the time I took the job. But the increase will be good – almost enough to live on, but not quite. :)

My son is supposed to be moving out at the end of the month. His one-month stay with us will be drawing to a close. You know, that one month where he came in December and leaves at the end of April. We’ve got to get the place rented to someone, but what’s the likelihood of that since I can’t even show the room because it’s a fucking pigsty that I asked him to clean up so we could show it, but somehow that just doesn’t happen.

I suppose the only benefit will be my increased salary that will help carry us through without someone renting the room for a month. Christ knows it’ll probably take that long to clean it up in there. God forbid he should ever help clean up the rest of the house (with our cleaning products, of course).

So I’m gonna play some games now – or “a” game at least and then go watch voting on American Idol. I’m predicting that the bottom three tonight will be Paris, Elliott and Ace. We’ll see.
