Tim’s – not just for coffee
Who says nothing interesting ever happens to me? Who? Was it you saying that nothing interesting ever happens to me? Well you would be wrong. Some days are just delightful and I have proof.
I did my normal rut thing today by going to Tim’s at lunch half-hour to get my mocha-choca-latta-decaf-half-caf (black) coffee, and, as I was sitting in my car watching the world go by – or staring at the brick building I was parked in front of, this guy came in to put some air in his tire.
His tire was quite flat and he was having a hard time getting the air pump to work – until he realized that he had to put in 50 cents, and then everything started working for him.
I was watching the guy just because he was having such trouble.
But then I noticed that perhaps he had lost a bit of weight. His pants were quite loose on him. And you see his pants were so loose that when he bent over, they didn’t want to bend over with him.
This is the most interesting thing I’ve seen in a while. Sorry for the crappiness of the pic – phonecam doncha know.
The only other interesting thing at Tim’s happened to me yesterday when some young guy held the door for me as we were both leaving, and he said, “I like your hair” (I just got it cut really short again on the weekend) and then he said, “it’s cool”.
Well, how ’bout that, boys and girls? I’ve got likable hair and it’s cool! I felt flattered. I felt attractive. And I felt cool.
Then it occurred to me that maybe it’s just cool because I’m an old broad and he thought it was cool for someone my age to be so bold with her hair. Or maybe it’s cool because he likes women who do the almost-brushcut look. Then I didn’t feel so attractive and cool any more.
But then I just disregarded all those thoughts and said to myself, “hey, he liked my hair… and it’s cool”.

I wish I had likeable hair… I’d be happy if it was at least ‘bearable’. I wonder if I could just go to the hair dresser’s and ask “what should I do with this?” I don’t know if the hair dressers in Finland are able to make suggestions — I doubt it.
