I don’t know what’s going on
I had to switch providers yet again because that traceroute problem with Bluehost and loading times was just driving me nuts.
So yesterday I switched to another Toronto-based provider: Vistapages. Everything seemed to go very well, and the site was back up and running in no time (never mind the usual 24-72 hours that they say you may have to wait for transfer).
I’m having a problem now though. It says none of my directories are writable (even though they’re all set to MORE than writable in the attributes). I’ve put in a support ticket but I have no idea what their hours are like on a Sunday. Who knows when it’ll be fixed.
My old database imported just fine, now I just have to wait for things to turn writable so that I can edit the pages through the WP control panel and to enable some of the plugins I like to have on.
God knows I hate this switching providers shit. Maybe I should just go read a book or something… no headaches there.

I love my host, http://www.trisystech.net/index_files/web_hosting.html its a small company out of Florida, I pay 5 bucks a month, and he even gave me his phone number to call him at home if I had issues. 500 mb of space and my own URL of course.

Oh that is horrible that you yet had to switch again your provider. I really like mine and for $5 I can’t complain about their customer service. Even on Sundays, when I post a ticket they usually get back to me within 15 min.
