Appointments out the ears
I had something really interesting to write about yesterday and I didn’t have the time to write since I had that eye appointment. Unfortunately, now I’ve forgotten what it was. It’s the age thing, I guess.
But I did have my eye test and apparently I need a totally different prescription on all glasses than the ones I got a mere year-and-a-half ago. Now I should also be wearing a mild set of glasses for the computer – about the same strength glasses as all my reading glasses are, however, for reading it’s a much strong prescription that I need.
So I figure I’m gonna try those new trifocally things instead of buying 3 pairs of glasses. Since I’m gonna buy them at Costco, if I can’t get used to them, I can switch them to regular within 90 days, so WTF.
The glasses I like, which are very Roy Orbison-ish, were out of stock when I went back. I just got a voicemail tonight that they’ve got them back in. So now I’ve gotta head over there again tomorrow night to see if I still like them.
The glasses themselves are only $139. However, I think they said the prescription was about $250, so that’s a little pricey… another $400 on glasses not even two years after the last ones.
They said I don’t have to wear glasses all the time, but if I need them for the computer, need them for reading, and need them for distance, where the hell is the middle ground? When won’t I need the glasses?
Tonight I headed off to my doctor’s appointment (I’m such a busy girl on the go). They had no answers for me and are sending me to some asthma specialist downtown. I told them it had to be downtown because I’m not taking off another two days of work for two different tests way up here and fucking up most of a work day. Why would I bother heading all the way downtown if I have to spend at least half the day up in the burbs?
In other more exciting news, American Idol voting is on tonight. I watched last night and thought that everybody was shit. The only one I was impressed with, who I haven’t been overly impressed with before, was Taylor. That could just be because he got a haircut and looked really sweet. Nah, I’m not like that. Well, maybe I am, he did look really good with that haircut. Nah, he didn’t seem quite as dippy last night as usual – and he looked good, so I don’t think he’ll get the boot.
That’s all. If I can remember WTF was so interesting to write about, I’ll write about it. But for now, this is it.
