American Idol Prediction
Well, I finally got to see American Idol last night, and what a waste of time that was. Everybody was singing Stevie Wonder songs, and, while I don’t mind some of his stuff, I find lots of it just really boring. Maybe if he had been singing it himself it would have sounded good, but, frankly, most of his songs are just to foofey for me.
I didn’t see a good performance until the final three or four (maybe it was five) but I’ve just got to watch the voting tonight to see if that geeky kid gets the boot. I can’t stand him and his false vibrato. And I’d love for these people to sing on key. Is that too much to expect?
I think that Katharine McPhee has the best female voice there, nice tone, real vibrato and strength. However, she reminds me of a mix between Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. It seems stereotypical and yet, I don’t think that anyone’s got a better voice.
This guy, Elliott Yamin, has a beautiful voice and doesn’t try to ‘rasp’ it up to sound sexy, or rock-y. I also appreciate the fact that he doesn’t seem to be gazing into the camera to try to be sexy, but then he’s kinda funny looking, so that probably wouldn’t work.
So that’s it. Those are the two I’m hoping will make it into the finals, and that’s about all I’ll say about American Idol.
It is too weird to be watching The Donald on a Monday night though. Since he used to be on on Thursdays, that was a way of starting off the weekend. Now that he’s on Mondays my whole week is fucked up – I keep thinking that the weekend’s almost here. Isn’t that so? What, it’s an age thing?
