My glasses came in at Costco, so tonight after work, I went to see them and decide whether I still liked them or not.

I wasn’t quite sure. I liked them, but then I wanted to try on some more glasses. After all, I have to make a statement, don’t I? The statement will say… “Hey, I need glasses!”

No, no, not at all. The statement will say, “geez I’m cool for an old broad, and notice how likable my hair is too?”

So I was torn between new glasses tonight. The ones I ordered in were Moschino (never heard of them, don’t know if you have) and the others I liked were Prada and Fendi. I only like glasses that have been named. And, apparently I only like glasses with Italian names, or sounding so to me.

The Fendi glasses also came with clip-ons and they looked good even though my titanium glasses have clip-ons and they’re as useless as a bag of lint. Once you’re used to Serengettis, you just can’t go back. The Prada ones were very nice too, and perhaps a little more feminine than the Moschino, but more feminine means less impact. So after all, I went back to the Moschinos. I figure I’ll have my titanium ones fitted with a new prescription (when I can afford it and they’re frameless, hence less masculine looking than the Moschinos).

All in all I now figure this is gonna cost me about $500. $250 or so for the prescription, $130 for the frames, don’t know how much for the anti-reflection stuff, and taxes on top of that.

I don’t think that I can afford to see. Ok, I can afford to see, since that’s free, woe is me, my bonnet’s got a bee, tee hee hee. Ok, shut up, I know. I can afford to see, that doesn’t cost anything, I guess I just can’t afford to see well. So much for those bills that came a knocking.

Now I see it’s time for Earl. I heard that it was going to be a one-hour episode but it doesn’t say that on the digital guide, so if I’m lucky, The Office will be on.

I don’t require glasses, but often think about getting some cosmetic frames… you know, to look more sophisticated. Then I think about those student loans…

Anyway – good luck with your night of televisioning. All I get is the two local off cable channels, meaning Law and Order, CSI whatever, or if the weather is just right, Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve heard good things about Earl. Maybe if all goes well I’ll be able to tune into that now and again.

Glasses are way overpriced, if you ask me. The next time I choose glasses, I am bringing a friend and a digital camera so that I can see what I look like in them. My eyesight is so bad, it’s like looking at a blur in the mirror.
