About Linking
I see a lot of sites, even without Blog Explosion. Sometimes I’ll just go visit other people’s links to see what they like.
One time I found a site I liked. I liked her design, I liked what and how she wrote, and I figured I’d link to her – I do that whenever the mood strikes me.
And this site that I liked also said, “link to me and I’ll link back to you”, so I thought, “great, I’ll get more hits, too” and everything will be happily ever after.
Well I linked to the site, and I let her know that I had linked to her. And nothing. She did not link back to me, I don’t even think she acknowledged me.
Well of course that kinda pissed me off. While I originally wanted to link to her, the fact that she was going to link back had now become one of the other reasons I was gonna link to her. When she didn’t, then I felt insulted. Then I felt like, “what… I’m not good enough to link to???”
So I ended up taking her off my blogroll simply for that reason. And every now and then I see her blog since she’s also on Blog Explosion, and I’ll read her content for a bit. I acknowledge that she has a good site.
But I will not link to her. Fuckhead.

Lyndon, there’s a link right there under Last 5 Tenants. There you are. And if I like someone (like I did with Eph), once their time expires under “last 5″, I’ll add them to my blogroll. If I start reading someone’s blog regularly, chances are they’ll get on there (cuz I’m a lazy bugger and that way it’s easy for me to get to their site 
).

What I usually do though, I read a blog from my ‘browser sidebar’ for awhile, see where they are going (thought wise – got burned a couple of times, but learning now) and than ask the person if I can add them to my blogroll. I never asked to be linked back, but most of the time I end up on their blogroll as well
