In case you’ve never read it over there on the side, I am Sagittarius. I’ve done my own chart, (cuz I’m a little into that crap as an amusement) and my honey’s.
The problem is that I don’t really know what time I was born. So maybe that chart information is all wrong.
Yes, I asked my mother years ago and she came up with the concise answer of, “I think it was somewhere around midnight”. I never knew what to believe with that one, so I’ve always put in the time around midnight.
Anyway, for years I wanted to find this out. A few years ago I phoned the hospital where I was born and they told me that in order to obtain my birth records, I’d have to have a letter from my mother, authorizing it.
Got that? MY records required a letter of authorization from my mother.
Well just the other day, I decided I’d try again. I figured that I could tell them that my mother’s broccoli, living in a home, and therefore it wouldn’t require her authorization.
This time they didn’t mention anything at all about a letter of authorization. I didn’t even have to mention the zucchini, I just told the hospital that I’d like to find out what time I was born.
Well now it requires $30. I have to send them a written letter with:
- My name and date of birth
- My address and phone number
- My mother’s married name and maiden name
- A witness’s signature
- A cheque for $30
For some strange reason I had thought that all hospital records would be computerized and it would simply be a matter of looking up a name in the computer.
I certainly have no idea why it would cost $30 stinking dollars for them to say, “ya, you were born at 12:02″. And how come I can’t get my own birth information at request AND for free? It is my information that they never provided me.
I guess I’ll be waiting til the job actually starts before I have $30 to spare on crap like this.
