Ringtones
Minna just got a new cellphone that’s very similar to mine. She was talking about ringtones, which reminded me of the various ringtones I’ve bought.
I have one that’s the James Bond theme, I have another one that’s a really annoying tapping, but you can hardly hear it, and by the time you realize that it’s your phone doing that annoying tapping, you’re too late for the call.
I have a couple more songs, the most recent one I downloaded was “Where is the Love” by the Black-Eyed Peas.
Well, I was in my doctor’s office one day, supposed to meet up with Emmett for lunch. And as I stood at the reception area, waiting to book in for my appointment, I was listening to the music they were playing in the doctor’s office.
At one point the doctor’s office seemed to be playing some Muzak version of Where is the Love. It took me a minute or so to realize that not only were they playing that song, but another song was playing at the same time. That’s when I clued in to the fact that it was my phone ringing.
I answered my phone finally, but it was too late, I’d missed the call.
That is when I decided that I am not the right person to have songs for ringtones. I needed something that sounded like a phone ringing. When I searched the cellphone site, they didn’t have any that sounded like a phone ringing. So instead I downloaded a really irritating, constant ringtone that I will know is mine.

That’ll wake you into the reality that your phone is ringing. And you won’t start humming along to it either.

I gotta say I’ve never missed a call because I thought it was an actual song playing but I have missed calls because I couldn’t here the thing. Right now I have “Humps” by Black-Eyes Peas on mine.
