Girl’s Best Friend
There’s one thing that I’ve always been into – and that’s diamonds. They’re the only stone for me since they’re so clean, and clear and sparkly.
These are the rings that I wear on my left hand… my wedding rings.
I love the way they sparkle, especially if you go someplace like the Skydome (ya, I go to a lot of sporting events). If you move your hand around, the sparkle of those can be blinding, which is mostly what I did the last time I went to the Skydome for a baseball game. Like I could see the game way up there in the sky – might as well have fun blinding myself.
These are the rings that I wear on my right hand. These are my wedding rings from my last marriage. These were designed for us since I knew my ex couldn’t afford a big rock. I gave him the option of buying smaller diamonds. And the gold band on the bottom was designed to fit around the ring.
See, it’s not all about the money, it’s just about the diamonds. These are the rings that I wear daily.
The whole reason I bring this up is because I was surfing and some girl was showing the ring she got for Christmas. It looked like a band with some little diamond chips in it, but you really couldn’t tell if they were diamonds or not, they were so tiny.
I could never wear something like that. I could never be happy receiving something like that. Call me a princess if you want, but that issue does speak to money to me. I’d feel like, “so, this is what I mean to you? A whole hundred bucks of cheap-ass diamond chips that I can’t even tell are there?”
Maybe I’m all about the bling. But at least the guys I’ve been with have known that and have bought me something appropriate (meaning something they knew I’d like). And I don’t want any big ass turquoise ring, or sapphire, jade or emerald. Make it diamond or else take it back… I won’t be wearing it.
