Battle of the Blogs
Ok, don’t ask my why I did it, but I decided to put myself up to compete in the Blog Explosion Battle of the Blogs. Perhaps because I’m feeling giddy and confident, I thought, WTF – let’s compete.
I just finished a competition yesterday. Yes, boys and girls, I went to the second interview for that job I went to last week.
The second interview went really well, and when I got home last night I was just praying (if you can count it as praying – not like a real prayer that somebody religious might use) that they would hire me.
On finishing the interview they asked me to go write a letter to a politician and so I did.
Anyway, this morning I got a phone call, I didn’t answer it cuz I was still half asleep, and when I got up (which was right after the phone call because the stupid phone always wakes me) I found out it was a message from the woman on the interview.
She was congratulating me for being the “chosen one” and said that she’d call me back with more details, but that the job probably wouldn’t start for another two weeks because they expected the person doing the job now to give two weeks’ notice.
What does all that mean to you? Absolutely nothing. What does it mean to me? *woohoo* After 9 months, I’ll finally be working full time again.
While I’d like to say that I am now going to be able to shop again, I guess what I’ll really be able to do now is pay off my stinking credit cards and bank overdraft. But after that… *woohoo* – I may be able to pay the rent 
Go ahead, congratulate me. I’m in a good place today.
UPDATE: I won the battle of the blogs! More good news today (like 75 points). I better quit while I’m ahead – I’m such a weeny man.
