Conceit or Openness?
I stumbled upon someone’s blog today, that’s me, always stumbling. That’s because I’m Sagittarius, and the way they sometimes describe us is that we seem to move with grace, like a racehorse, one minute, only to trip over our big feet the next.
Anyway, that’s neither here nor there, this blog I was telling you about, and I won’t put a link to it because she might find the post insulting, was talking about how she was born to write. That was her dream. That’s all she wanted to do.
That’s great, I thought. Do what you like to do. I decided that I’d have to read what this born-writer had to say.
However, as it turned out, I couldn’t tell you what she had to say. I didn’t end up reading anything.
The first thing that caught my eye was her picture in the sidebar. And a little farther down… her picture in the sidebar. A little farther yet… her picture in the sidebar.
And all these pictures? The “oh so sexy” poses. Here I am pouting. Here I am with my hair draped a little over one eye. Here I am staring into the camera. Here I am gazing off in thoughtful repose.
It actually made me think, “you’re pretty damned full of yourself, aren’t ya?”.
Then I thought that maybe I was being too harsh. Maybe she was just being open and showing us who she was. But I thought about it again and realized that those people who are letting you see who they are, don’t have a sidebar full of poses of themselves… they usually have a pic, perhaps at the top, to let you see them.
Now I can’t go back to that blog. I have no interest in reading what she was born to write. Perhaps she’s hoping to “stumble upon” a career as a writer-slash-model.

Brrr, it’s cold. Maybe she is looking for a man?
