The Hated Room
I am absolutely hating the new layout of the computer room.
See how my honey’s computer is on the opposite side of me? When we’re in here, it’s like we’re both off in little separate cubicles or something.
I don’t feel like we’re together. So we’re looking at how we can turn my desk around to the way it was, and perhaps take out the one middle piece, so it will be much like it was before.
So if it were like this diagram, it might feel a little more normal again, since this is more like what we’re used to.
As it is now, it’s kinda like we’re both alone. He could be in another room for all I know, unless I peer up over my monitor only to see the top of his head.
We’ll have to figure out how to stabilize his desk if we put it this way since it doesn’t have a separate end (because it attached to the other part of the desk).
Anyway, enough about that. In other home news I did not get my daughter’s old room primed today since I was busy vacuuming up all the dust from where we had to fill the wall.
Some idiot had glued a mirror onto her bedroom wall and that was fine for the way we had it, but to paint, you’d have to paint around it, so we took it off. It was stuck on with what looked like tar.
That left some holes in the wall and we picked up some drywall compound yesterday, filled it a couple of times and sanded and sanded. Funny that nobody thought to cover up all the stuff that was in the room *duh*.
Since 2 walls are pink, I was going to put the primer on today, but the blinds hadn’t been taken down and I couldn’t figure out how they were attached. It would have been a good day for my honey to be home, because we women were fairly limited in what we could do.
I guess we’ll start that tomorrow. I told my daughter she’d be helping. She should learn some basic painting techniques for when she’s on her own (probably in 10 or so years).
My son’s coming to birthday dinner tomorrow night so I won’t tell you what I’m cooking in case he comes to visit. He’ll have to be surprised.
That’s it for now. I’ve gotta gear myself up to do something more. Perhaps there’s more dust I can remove. Christ knows it permeated the whole house.
