Mmmm, Good Eats
For dinner tonight I had some salt & vinegar chips with chip dip. Yes, I, the one who’s got the big concern that my daughter eat meat, vegetables and fruit for every meal, stuffed down some chips and dips for my health-conscious meal.
I was too lazy to make anything, that’s the bottom line, and my stomach kept growling away, so I knew I had to have something, so, voila!
My honey had to go off tonight to a viewing. His sister’s father-in-law passed away, and so he needed to be there to show his respect, and because he also knew and liked the man.
I wish all the evil assholes would die first, instead of the people you like and love. I know, it doesn’t work that way, but if I had designed the world, it would.
So I did pretty much nothing all the live-long day except go out for a coffee, pick up some cookies for the cookie jar, and stop at the bank to put a cheque in for upcoming rent.
Yesterday, though, I picked up a new spice rack since we’ll be getting rid of our huge one. My ex said he didn’t want the big one cuz he had no place to put it. Now we’ll see if my son wants it (for when he moves out) and, if not, more Value Village stuff.
Since we were getting rid of one, I figured we’d better have something. I’ll buy a few more bottles of spices and that’ll be the end of it.
I did spend some time today phoning from school to school to school trying to get my daughter enrolled for next year in the Arts/Music school (the same one that my son went to). She had mentioned that she wanted to do this, but as I looked through the paperwork today, I saw that the deadline is Friday, for crying out loud.
So aside from getting that application completed, which I did, I also have to get a copy of her last report card, a reference from her teacher, and an arts reference from her music school. Then I’ll have to go up to the school, with a $25 audition fee cheque in hand (non-refundable), and drop off the stuff which I don’t think I’ll have in time.
They did say that I could put through the paperwork and indicate that the other stuff was coming, but I hope to have as much together as I can in order to start this. Perhaps some name dropping will help. “BTW, my son also went to your school a few years ago”. “Really? What was your son’s name?” “Schmoe, Schmoe the great violinist, you remember him?” “I’m sorry, admissions are full this year. Try again next year”.
Nah, it wouldn’t go like that. I’m just funning with ya. He was a good boy. Translation: I have absolutely no idea what impression he left at the school.
At least tonight Martha Apprentice is listed, so I’ll get to watch something on TV. I was playing Zuma earlier. I had 8 men to go into round 8 and then lost 5 of them on one stinking level. I’m not feeling overly game-friendly right now.

Chips and dip IS a meal, no really it is
