Will Ferrell (who I hate) is the grown-up son to Robert Duvall who owns a sporting goods store. Duvall is the competitive father who always benched the not-good-enough son, so our boy Will has always felt klutzy and inferior.
Will Ferrell gets to coach his own son’s soccer team because grandpa got rid of his grandson cuz he wasn’t good enough for the team he was coaching.
You know the rest. Guess which team wins the final championship game? I don’t even need to bother with a spoiler here.
Usual, cute, predictable stuff other than Will Ferrell becoming the obsessed with coffee, all of a sudden mean, driving coach instead of the friendly, ‘we’re just here to have fun’ guy, who recants and becomes himself again once he stops with the coffee. Ok movie for kids, I guess.
