Here’s What We Scored

Here’s the new rug we got from my mother’s place.

Living Room Rug

It’s a little more ‘persian’ looking than our old rug, but it certainly lightens up the room, and I think I’ll have to change some of the colouring in there. For sure we need new curtains, but we’ve needed those for a long time.

New ChairThis is the chair we took to usurp the foldy chair from its place. This one will be a little more comfortable to sit down in and put your shoes on, that’s the only reason I wanted a chair there by the door.

Now we’ve got a rug in the dining room as well – more persian looking but I think it makes the room look homier. I’ve wanted to get a rug in there for some time.

Dining Room Rug

That little rug needs cleaning like crazy. My honey’s gonna take off work on Wednesday and we’re gonna knock ourselves out with the steam cleaner.

I’m just glad to score something for free.

Our Thanksgiving went well. The usual eating like a pig, not being able to move for the rest of the night, and playing some games – Scene It – with the family.

My son drove my ex home and borrowed my car for the night. He brought it back this afternoon. My ex kinda paid for our Thanksgiving dinner… he put in $60 for it, however, the turkey alone cost me $43, and by the time we were finished buying everything it was probably closer to $100. But who wants to say that when someone’s offering you money that they think is enough. “No, not $60, give me $100″, “$100??? for a turkey dinner?” – “never mind”.

So, anyway, I’ve got my old rug here to give to my son. He’s supposed to be moving in December since his lease is up. Don’t know where to, but at least he’ll have a big rug to put on the floor.

Tonight we’ll be having a nice *surprise* turkey dinner and I guess I’ll have to take my daughter home early cuz she’s got homework to do that she didn’t bring here (little bugger).

Thanks for the birthday greetings and poem. It was of course yesterday, due to us being ahead of the rest of the world in matters of time. We have daylightsaving here now and we are 13 hours ahead of GMT or UTC if you prefer.

Nice rug too.
