Paint Shop Pro X
I’m sure everybody knows that Corel bought out Jasc Paint Shop Pro. And I’ve owned every version of PSP since number 5.
So I preordered the X version before it came out, and it arrived yesterday; I’d kinda forgotten about it.
I tried it today and drew this picture. I know you were probably saying to yourselves, “why, oh why, have I not seen any of jafer’s artwork lately?” – so here ya go.
Now I noticed with the new Corel version, that the one-step photo fix is not as good. It made my pics too bright and almost grainy. I’ve got to see if there’s somewhere to adjust those settings, cuz otherwise I’ll have to switch between version 9 and X.
It does have a nifty little feature though where you can add a suntan, or get rid of red eye very easily.
What I like most of all though is the one touch teeth whitening tool. See below:

See how nice this perfect stranger’s teeth look afterwards?
They also offer another feature where you can get rid of marks on the pictures without having to use the clone tool. That’s a perfect tool for me, say if I wanted to make myself look good and get rid of my big m-m-m-mole face. I suppose retouching acne would be a good use, and I did this once for a friend of mine’s son. It’s a pain in the ass to do manually and still have the picture look ok.
And for those of you who think that my cartoon pic doesn’t look the least bit like me, here’s proof once and for all.
I know, WTF would you ever use this effect for? Bad hair day? Bad face day?
I love using this program, even if it’s just to play around cuz I’ve got nothing better to do with my time.
And I own Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements, and Corel Photopaint (well, I damned well own everything, don’t I?) but I still prefer to use this program.
So, I’ll play some more with it. I’m impressed except for the one-step photo fix, but I may be able to change that.
