4:00 a.m.

My honey and I were up til about 5:00 last night (morning). Around 4:00 we got a phone call. While I was thinking, who the fuck is that calling at 4:00 in the morning?, it turned out to be a call from the home where his mother lives. They were calling to see if they should take her to the hospital because she was unresponsive.

So he went over there today (St. Catharines) and found out that she’d had a massive stroke; her condition wasn’t that good before that, and so they (sisters and brothers) may have to decide whether or not to pull the plug. Although because of her condition right now, they don’t think she’ll be around for even 2 weeks.

I’ve never met the woman, but I do feel bad for my honey, since he actually loves his mother, unlike some of us.

Anyway, that just goes to show you that phone calls at 4:00 a.m. are probably not a good thing, although it’s not like we haven’t received wrong number calls in the middle of the night.

So I ended up sleeping til about 3:00 today, a whopping 10 hours of sleep, which was nice.

Today I’ve just been dicking around with my desktop some more. I didn’t realize all the stuff you can do with it with the Object Desktop program.

So I put some swimming fish onto my desktop, changed the pic to one I’d taken downtown, and this pic is really neat in the perspective, I almost feel as if I’m standing on Yonge Street (with fish swimming around).

Tonight I rented The Machinist, only because I thought I’d seen a preview for it before and thought that it might be some action flick that we’d like. I’ll give you my valued opinion on it tomorrow.

That’s about it for today. Tomorrow I’m probably going to be alone again while my honey takes his kids to see their grandmother one last time. Then I’ll start the new job on Monday (training went pretty well, overall, and I’m glad to be finished).

As a mom you always hate to get those late night calls.
