I’m Not a Bore, I Just Play One on TV

Being home all the time is so fucking boring it isn’t funny.

I ended up vacuuming today, just to give myself something to do other than sit at the computer. Now the place did need vacuuming, but that’s not the point… it’s needed it for quite a while.

It occurred to me that, not once, in all my months at home, have I turned on the TV during the day.

And I just can’t believe how little TV ever enters my mind. I know I’ve told you of how we don’t really watch it, we searched for things we could watch during the evenings because we were always at the computer.

And then we found some stuff… American/Canadian Idol, Rockstar: INXS, The Office, The Apprentice, sometimes Judge Judy if we have an early dinner.

So I was just thinking about my taste in TV and who knows WTF it is?

I have to tell you that for most of my life I was a big couch potato. I grew up being babysat by TV and it extended up until about 5 or so years ago. Then the internet and computers became the largest part of my life, although I have been working on computers for about 20 years.

But today I just found it strange to realize that with all my whining about how boring it is to be home every day, all day, not once did I think about watching something on TV. There probably is nothing to watch, but that’s not my point either.

What is my point? Did I say there was a point? Does everything have to have a point? Is it beer time yet?

Have to admit that despite I turn the TV always on, I don’t watch as nearly as much as let’s say 10 years ago.
