Gene Hackman
Isn’t Gene Hackman in every single movie that was ever made?
Last night my honey and I were channel surfing and every movie we stumbled upon had Gene Hackman in it. We ended up watching the end of The Replacements (we had no choice since we’d already seen Get Shorty very recently and it was the only other Gene Hackman movie on) and it occurred to me that there has never been a movie made without Gene Hackman in it (except for the other movies that all include Robert DeNiro).
Even movies that I don’t know star Gene Hackman, star Gene Hackman. I like the guy as much as I like peanut butter, but frankly, I wouldn’t mind seeing a movie without Gene Hackman.
Tonight I’ve rented Life Aquatic with Bill Murray. But you know damned well that I’ll probably see Gene Hackman in there somewhere. How does he do it? How does he get in every single movie ever made?
UPDATE: My daughter just pointed out that he wasn’t in the Scooby Doo movies. Hmmm, I’m not too sure about that.
