3:00 a.m.

Yes, boys and girls, we stayed up until 3:00 a.m. last night, and let me tell you, I certainly didn’t feel like getting up at 11:30 this morning.

We drank copious amounts of beer, played Scene It and 99 til the wee hours of the morning with Emmett and his girlfriend, let’s call her Jane.

This was the first time we met Jane, and she was a nice woman, very bright and seemingly ambitious. I wish I’d had that much ambition at 23. I wish I’d had it at 33 or 43 even.

We had the chicken and pasta fiesta dinner and it was ok. Next time I make that I think I’ll add twice as much of the spices as they said. I probably put in twice as much pasta and chicken, so it would be appropriate.

Emmett and Jane came bearing Bailey’s which was a sweet thought. It came with a candle, which I’ll have to light to see if it smells like Bailey’s. I should do that now, I could use a nice smell at the moment.

They enjoyed the Scene It game (first time they’d ever played it) and Emmett managed to kick some ass. We taught them how to play 99, and I think they liked that too.

We caught up a bit on things that were going on in my old environment, and I think next Friday, they’re going to join us down at the Revival to see my son’s band play again.

They’ve got a new CD out, so if you’re interested in some hip hop music, or in meeting me in person, come on down to The Revival to see Basement Project next Friday, June 3rd.

How’s that for being a good mommy? A free plug for my son. BTW, if you go to the site, my son is the 2nd guy from the left in that main pic, the guy taking off the sunglasses.

So that’s all for now. I’m just going to recuperate for a few hours, if that can be done. Doesn’t seem like it, the way I feel now.
