Had to Do It

Yes, I decided at 3:00 that I had to go see Paul and have him do something with my growing out hair… see if he could make it look half decent while I’m waiting to be able to have some ‘style’.

So I no longer have spiky short hair. I have flattened down towards the front hair. Yes, I knew the spiky hair was a little dated (for quite some time), but when my hair is short there’s not much you can do with it, it just spikes itself up. So I may as well take advantage of that and just add hairwax to it.

No more. He’s given me a cut he says will help it grow out gracefully. I’ll see if I can stand it, or even manage to do it the way he’s done it.

Day two of no smokes is going good for me. Of course today I thought more about having one, but I didn’t. My honey had one last night and he also had one tonight. But they weren’t full cigarettes. They were partials that were in my jacket pockets. So I told him if he was dying for one to feel free to smoke those, and he did. The good thing was that I didn’t want to have one.

I still have that half-pack in the cupboard – the one that wasn’t finished off the other night when I quit. I’m not relinquishing that to my honey (just yet) in case I find myself needing one. But so far, so good. If only it would help this stinking cold disappear though.

I was bored silly most of the day, which is one reason at 3:00 I was checking up on haircuts. My appointment was for 4:15 so I left at 3:50 and subway’d it up to Yorkville. The haircut and new hair product cost me about $105.

Of course my old hair product is no good for this hair style… it needs something more subtle. I had just replenished my waxworks (at $24 a pop), so I’ve got fifty bucks worth of hair product there that perhaps I’ll give my son. I don’t know if he likes that stuff, but I loved it. It doesn’t leave your hair all stiff like gel and it has holding power galore. It makes your hair look shiny too.

So I bought one hair product for hold (but it’s less than the wax) and the other for shininess – it’s called “Magic”. One of the stylists had it on her hair which is why I wanted it, I saw how shiny her hair looked.

My honey’s gone to the store right now and I’m just thinking of other things to eat. We had some fish and salad for dinner and I feel full. But my mouth feels hungry still. I suppose I could have more salad. Or a spoon of peanut butter. Maybe I’ll just wait and the hungry mouth will go away and I can just sit around feeling full.
