Starting Over
So here I am at my new spot… yet again. I’ve moved more times than a big moving thing. Hopefully this is the last of it.
It’s been a busy couple of days since I last blogged, but the good news is that WordPress 1.5 Strayhorn has been released. So the 1.5 version that I was using (which was beta), is now officially out there. So far, so good – it’s working
So the last couple of nights I spent my time getting the new version up and running, and of course making it look the same as I had just made it look.
I’m still waiting for my new mp3 player to arrive. I have no idea how long that takes.
I sent back the cellphones that I got from Rogers and I’m still using my old Telus cellphone.
I was thinking that perhaps we’d paint my daughter’s bedroom this weekend, but now I’m not feeling like it. Way too much work and of course I’d have to prime it since her room is a bright pink right now. Maybe another weekend. Maybe another weekend and perhaps my son could come and help too.
My son is going to borrow my car next weekend so he can go visit my grandson in London. He wanted to bring him here for the weekend, but, unfortunately, since Saturdays have so much going on, I can’t give up my car on a Saturday morning.
Next Friday night my son’s band has another gig at The Opera House. We’ll be there, boys and girls, you should be too. Apparently on that occasion there are going to be some record company execs looking for new talent. I think 4 or 6 of them to be exact (some exact… is it 4 or is it 6?). I hope they do well. We’ll be watching and clapping and whooping.
Now I’m gonna go have my shower and get ready to go to weight watchers. I’m up a pound today from where I was yesterday. The good news about that though, is that the suit I wore yesterday was really loose. The pants were hanging off me.
I’ve lost a total of 6 pounds starting from when I started that SouthBeach diet to the 2 weeks on WW. It’s nice to feel a difference in your clothes. I should try on the suit again today, now that I’m a pound up, and see if it still feels loose. Stupid bastard body, betraying me just on the day I have to go weigh in.
I’ll talk later.

Hmm… that’s odd. Maybe you’ve forgotten to run the upgrade script? I upgraded from 1.2 (that old!) to 1.5 the day it was secretly released and the upgrade went smoothly (apart from slowness from the server).
Oh well
If you don’t miss your old posts then who am I to tell you to save them.
Gosh my gravatar is stupid…

Why don’t you bring the old database with you when you change locations? It’s sad (at least it would be to me) to lose your old messages everytime some dumbwit makes you move…
It’s not such a big operation to change the blog directory. You just need to change the name of the directory in FTP client or something and then the Site url and WP url values at Options. It might require some PHPMyAdmin usage but there’s plenty of information on it at the WordPress forums.
